We heard about Akin from friends that had been working with him to train their new puppy. Luna is a 7-month-old yellow lab, and she was starting to set the rules of the house. We knew we needed to work with someone for obedience training, and we were planning out of town for a week. So, I called Akin to see if he would be willing to do a board and train with Luna for a week, rather than the typical 2 weeks. He agreed but let us know that he would not be able to accomplish all that he normally did with board and train for the full 2 weeks. It turned out great! We were able to drop Luna off at Akin’s house the night before we were leaving. He sent us pictures and videos of her training during the week which was so great because we all missed her so much. He brought her back to our house after the week and spent about 2 hours showing us all that she had learned and teaching us to work with her in the same ways. We are so impressed with everything after only a week. Before her training, she would jump all over the furniture, constantly be counter-surfing, and pulling when we were on walks. Since she’s returned, she no longer gets on the furniture. She goes to her “place” when told and will stay there until we call her. On walks, she stays right by my side with zero pulling. She is still interested in what is on the counter but gets down immediately when we tell her to “leave it.” We are so happy that we took her to Akin!
