Our History

Between the two of us, we have over sixty years of experience. Akin has over 33 years of real life dog training experiences and Marie has over 28 years of clinical practice in Quebec, Canada, where she owned her own practice for 28 years as a Doctor of Homeopathy and over 25 years as a well-renowned Rottweiler breeder. Marie is Board Certified and understands how stressful and improper training techniques can and will affect dogs emotionally, physically, and psychologically. Marie’s knowledge of Homeopathic remedies has and continues to help with not only our own dogs, but also all of our friends and family everyday. We know that the A-B-C’s and 1-2-3’s are the fundamental building blocks of learning, which is why ABC Training Kennels is founded on the premise that all dogs of all breeds and all ages with almost any issue can be trained using fundamentally sound training principles to gain true and sustained knowledge and understanding.

Our Mission

Our mission is to customize the dog training solutions we bring to your door step to meet the needs of your dog and your family by Making Your Best Friend Next of Kin with Akin, It’s as Easy as A-B-C and 1-2-3. Training the way we do takes skills that have been honed by years of practice, knowledge, and time that many other dog trainers are NOT willing to commit to. Our training options are a result of over 60 plus combined years of experience with proven methods that are rooted in solid animal behavior theories. 

We bring the solutions to you in your home with consultations or training sessions that determine your goals, assess your dog’s needs, and show you what to work on until the next session. To obtain optimal results, it then becomes your responsibility to work with your dog in between weekly sessions.

This process allows you to better understand your dog and strengthen your bond while you both learn. There is no such thing as a quick fix in dog training, which is why our in-home solutions-based training options are a minimum of five sessions. After the initial five sessions, if you want to continue, we will happily accommodate your request by offering one additional session at a time until you reach your desired goal.

When it comes to dog training or fixing behavioral issues, there are no magic bullets, shortcuts, or tricks. Simple hard work along with consistent and clear communication is the remedy for success. Your dogs will not be subjected to abusive training methods in order to produce fast, unreliable results. We ensure that your dog’s zest for life remains intact regardless of the training option you select. We know that intentional work and consistency produces dependable, reliable, and lasting results.

At ABC Training Kennels, we have a passion for working with dogs that is second to none along with a genuine desire to help dogs and their owners achieve their individual goals no matter what they are. We provide private lessons in your home affords you the ability to train your dog in their everyday environments and not in some facility that does not mirror your home.

Our training options are suited for people with specific issues in their homes that require our professional help such as door manners, leash manners, jumping, counter surfing, bed/place command, and other basic behavioral issues.
