We have spent most of the last eighteen years actively involved in studying the different methods and techniques of dog training. The sport Shutzhund has evolved Our quest for knowledge has taken us all over America and Europe. We have devoted the past eighteen years to training, competing and doing helper work at the highest level, in the sport of shutzhund. Though fond of k-9s in general, we love the German shepherd and Malinois breeds in particular. We have trained and continue to train other breeds of dogs other than shepherds and Malinois. Occasionally, we have litters of German shepherds and Belgian Malinois out of the best working bloodlines available.
In addition to breeding and importing, our trainer Akin conducts training seminars for beginers as well as handlers getting ready for high-level competition all over the country. His knowledge and experience as a world-class decoy makes him invaluable to young men and women interested in learning how to do trial and raining decoy work. His ability to help decoys and handlers understand how and why they do the things that they do to their dog is amazing. He believes in teaching the "fundamentals" in every phase and at every level. "How can you teach your dog an exercise when you, the handler don't understand the reason for the exercise?"
He has been referred to as having superior training, coaching and teaching ability. His accomplishments with the dogs that he has trained and helped other people train, are a testimony to his adaptability and intuitive understanding of canine behavior. Akin has had the honor of working numerous championships. He is the current KG OFS (Training director) for the Mid-west region of the DVG organization where he conducts training seminars and certifications for helpers (decoys) all over the Mid-west. Akin is a member in good standing with DVG (Deutscher Verband derGerauchshundsportvereine) and USA organizations.
